Bluff Dale Junior, Alex Saucedo, has more skills than just football! Coming out of the tunnel at the Bi-District game, Alex was the first one out and did an entire back flip! The Bobcats waited until he was clear and then ran out behind him. What a cool thing to do! Dency said she’d never seen a player do a backflip out of the tunnel! You go, Alex!

Hermleigh JH basketball was playing in Roby this last Monday evening when Lady Cardinal Josey Gibson broke her nose. And it wasn’t looking too great. Her dad, Coach Clint Gibson, took her to the dressing room to get her stuff to go to the ER when a man started chasing them down the hallway. It was a Roby parent who happened to be Dr. Blayne Street! He offered to set her nose right there! Coach Gibson gave Josey the option and she let him fix her nose right there in the hallway! Josey went back to the gym and played the rest of the game! One tough cookie right there!

Garden City’s Waylyn Davis got a big TD last week! Waylyn had a traumatic brain injury in JH and was in the hospital for a long while. He has recovered but this is the first year he played full contact sports. Coach Fryar drew up a special play for Waylyn and his parents blessed it! Waylyn did score the TD and then ran and kicked the PAT. He was 6 for 6 on PATs that night against Marfa. I absolutely love it!!! We have Waylyn’s picture of the TD and celebration with his team on the podcast webpage. Great job, Waylyn, and good luck to the Bearkats in the playoffs!

Sebastian Talamantez, Comstock
Sebastian is a three-time consecutive 1A State Cross Country Champion! He wore webbed sleeves this year to run in the state meet on October 31st!
Great job, Sebastian! We will miss seeing you run!

Noah Morris - Perrin Pirate
The Knox City broadcasters decided to let Noah Morris on the mic for a bit! The Perrin Pirates attended the game at Bryson vs Knox City. They were cheering so loudly for Knox City (in a good way), Nate Rowland asked Noah to get on the mic. He did a great job!

Jonesboro - The Lorax Twins

Jonesboro ISD kicked off their Homecoming week with matching Monday dress up day and with the help of three surprise visitors they ran through the halls with Eagle spirit and brought in the game ball for the Homecoming game against Valor Prep. The Lorax twins showed the students exactly what matching Monday is all about. Go watch it… you’ll be glad you did!

Season 3: 2021-2022

Terlingua Basketball

No gym... just open sky. They call it the Sky Dome and generations of kids have played basketball out in the wide open. The Sky Dome and Terlingua's basketball team have been highlighted in a several articles (2007, 2009, and 2021). Since the school's inception in 1996, all girls have played on the outdoor court, surrounded by dirt, gravel, and the open desert. In July 2022, Terlingua will have its own multipurpose building including a gym for the beloved sport.
